REWIND: Ata Kak – Obaa Sima

In 2006, ethnomusicologist Brian Shimkovitz owner of the blog and record label Awesome Tapes From Africa, during a trip in Ghana bought a self-recorded tape of mysterious musician Ata Kak called 'Obaa Sima', a non-stop party full of Ghanian highlife, American 80s rap, Chicago 90s house and some Caribbean touch.

After years of searching, Shimkovitz finally found him and reissued this awesome tape through his label. I hardly recommend a listen!
